Version 1.8.1 Available and What’s Next

Version 1.8.1 of the WordPress for Windows Phone app just became available on the Store. It fixes some important bugs and minor crashes. All in all 10 crash/bug reports were closed in this release:

  • Fixed crash when the translation files had an empty string in it.
  • Fixed crash when the media library contained a corrupted image on Edit Post Page.
  • Minor layout issue on HTC 8X.
  • Other bugfixes.

Check out the Trac milestone for the complete list.

What’s next?

We’re currently hard at work with WordPress for WindowsPhone 1.9 – the next major release of the app.
The most important to-do in the 1.9 road map is Featured Image, improvements on the Editor Page, as well as a few more nifty improvements.

  1. Always nice to read about updates to your app. There seems to be a text limit when typing loooong posts via the Windows Phone App. It’s almost unusable for me, and I’m sure for many others, because of this. It’s impossible to re-edit long posts after they’ve been saved as a draft. Improvements are always welcome, so keep up the good work, and please do something about this annoyance. Thank You.
